Mallorca in November, is an island that catches its breath. The beaches empty, the villages return to their usual rhythm, the olive harvest is in full swing and, at last, you can explore the Serra de Tramuntana without feeling the heat. It’s also the month when our winter activities begin, whether guided or self-guided. Here’s how to make the most of November.

Mallorca Weather in November: Soft and Golden Light

The Mallorca weather in November is surprisingly mild, ideal for visitors who enjoy tranquility.

  • Average temperatures: between 16 and 22°C during the day, perfect for walking and sightseeing.
  • Evenings: around 12–14°C — bring a light jacket.
  • Sea temperature: around 20°C, great for those who don’t mind a refreshing swim.
  • Sunshine: 6–7 hours per day.

Visiting Mallorca in November means enjoying a golden light that enhances the island’s nature, the Tramuntana mountains, and the charming stone-paved villages.

What to Do in Mallorca in November

November marks the start of Mallorca’s quietest season. The days remain mild, the light is beautiful, and the island reveals itself as its inhabitants experience it: markets, cafés, uncrowded mountain roads, and villages where you can take the time to stop and explore. It’s the perfect month for walking, meeting people, sampling local specialities and discovering the areas you tend to just pass through in summer.

If you tend to travel over the festive season, why not take a look at our ideas for enjoying the island in December?

Exploring the Serra de Tramuntana, from Sóller to Valldemossa

Without the summer heat, the Mallorcan mountains are at their best. On our ‘Treasures of Mallorca in the Tramuntana’ day trip, an Amigo will take you from Sóller and its harbour to Valldemossa via the Ma-10 road, running alongside the Mediterranean, with a stop at Son Marroig, the former residence of Archduke Louis-Salvador. A Mallorcan lunch and collection from your accommodation are included.

Do you have a car? The ‘Tramuntana at Your Own Pace’ tour lets you explore the botanical gardens of Sóller and the Son Marroig estate at your own pace, with a pre-booked lunch and a route map for each stage.

Hiking in the cool air with an Amigo

November is one of the favourite months for walkers. The trails are quieter, the temperatures are pleasant and the views are unobstructed. For a guided walk tailored to your ability, your Amigo will choose the route to suit your preferences whether along the coast or in the mountains and a traditional lunch is included. To plan other outings, take a look at our selection of the island’s most beautiful walks.

Experience the olive season

Autumn is olive harvest season, and the new olive oil is one of the island’s proudest products. It’s the perfect time to create your own blend of olive oil and take your bottle home with you. Food lovers can also get behind the hob with our Mallorcan cookery workshop, from farm to fork.

Discover the northern towns of Alcúdia and Pollença

Once summer is over, the north of the island returns to its usual tranquillity. Our day trip to Alcúdia and Pollença takes you along the medieval ramparts of Alcúdia, up the steps of the Calvary in Pollença and to a viewpoint overlooking the Tramuntana mountains, with a traditional lunch along the way and an Amigo to tell the story of these two towns.

Wander through the south-east, between Ses Salines and Santanyí

The south-east of Mallorca is perfect for carefree days out. The charms of the east allow you to explore at your own pace between Ses Salines and Santanyí, with lunch already booked, followed by dessert and a coffee in a village built of golden stone. Further north-east, the caves of Artà and Capdepera Castle can also be explored at your leisure.

See what everyday life is like in Palma

In November, the capital belongs to its residents. On our small-group tour of Palma, an Amigo will take you from the old fishing districts to the cathedral, with a gourmet stop at a traditional bar. On gloomier days, Palma is also a true city of art: a day spent between Es Baluard and the CaixaForum, with a tapas break, is a great way to enjoy the city indoors.

Have a look round the Dijous Bo in Inca

In mid-November, Inca hosts the Dijous Bo, the island’s biggest fair. Artisans, producers, food stalls and entertainment take over the town centre for a day that’s very popular with the Mallorcans. The dates change every year: check before you come.

Why Visit Mallorca in November?

  • A quieter island: fewer visitors, smooth-flowing traffic and attractions you can explore straight away.
  • The mild weather of autumn: days with temperatures around 19 °C, ideal for walking and sightseeing.
  • Olive season: the new harvest, the markets and seasonal cooking.
  • The Tramuntana at just the right time: hikes without the heat and clearer views than in summer.
  • Guided or self-guided: our Classic and Winter Freedom Experiences start in November.
  • Pre-planned holidays: accommodation, breakfast, transfers or a car, and activities all included in a single package.

Our tips for travelling in November

  • Remember to dress in layers: a T-shirt might be enough at midday, but mornings and evenings can be chilly, especially in the mountains.
  • Pop a waterproof jacket in your bag: a few days of rain are on the cards this month.
  • 1 November is a public holiday: please check the opening hours of museums, shops and restaurants on that day.
  • For a ‘Freedom’ experience, a vehicle is required. For a ‘Classic’ experience, please check the pick-up locations listed on the details page.
  • Some establishments in the seaside resorts close for the winter: opt for Palma, the villages and the island’s interior.

To settle in for a few nights

November is the perfect time for short breaks. Our 2- to 4-night breaks, which include accommodation and experiences, combine a carefully selected hotel, breakfasts, transfers or a hire car (depending on the package), and one to three experiences depending on the duration of your stay. For the Mallorcan countryside, consider a stay at a finca in Son Pieras or a stay in the heart of the island, in Costitx. For the mountains, a stay in Valldemossa places you right in the heart of the Tramuntana range.

FAQ – Mallorca in November

Is the weather nice in Mallorca in November?

Yes, the climate remains mild. Average maximum temperatures are around 19 °C and minimum temperatures around 8 °C, with just over five hours of sunshine a day on average and around six days of rain a month.

It’s still possible for the bravest among us, especially at the start of the month, but the water gets noticeably cooler as the weeks go by. In November, the best way to enjoy the sea is from the shore: walks along the coast, lunches overlooking the Mediterranean and deserted coves.

Hiking in the Serra de Tramuntana, exploring villages, visiting Palma, enjoying the local cuisine and everything to do with olive oil, right in the middle of the harvest season. Our Winter ‘Classic Experiences’ and ‘ Freedom Experiences’ programmes cater to these interests, whether accompanied by an Amigo or on your own.

In Palma and the villages, yes: life goes on all year round. In the seaside resorts, however, some of the hotels, restaurants and shops close for the winter. It’s best to check before you set off.

Because we’re based on the island and our Amigos – passionate local guides – help you discover Mallorca just as they experience it themselves. Whether in a small group with an Amigo or exploring at your own pace with a roadmap, every experience is designed to help you get to know the island in a different way.

November is milder and quieter, ideal for walking and exploring the island. December is cooler but more festive, with Christmas markets and end-of-year traditions. To compare, read our article on Mallorca in December.
